Exams, Dental Cleaning and Radiographs
A comprehensive intra and extra oral exams and radiographs will be performed at the initial appointment. The clinician will examine for tooth decay, gum disease, signs of cancer, general condition of your face, mouth and jaw. They will screen for any sleep-disordered breathing and will chart any pre-existing restorative work. The team will then discuss treatment options so you can make an informed consent to the choice of treatment you want and need. A professional cleaning will include scaling (removal of hardened tartar above and below the gumline), polishing (removal of plaque & stain from the teeth), flossing and oral hygiene instructions for tooth brushing.
Regular dental cleanings are very important for the early detection of oral health problems.

A guard is needed to protect your teeth from wear, relax your muscles and/or prevent the collapse of your jaw joint (the condyle). We offer a number of solutions for your discomfort. If you or someone in your family snores – we have relief for you. Our office screens for sleep apnea and will refer you for a sleep test (they are absolutely free). Our knowledgeable clinicians will walk you through a series of solutions to prevent or aid in the treatment of snoring or in the worst-case scenario OSA (Oral sleep apnea).
Root Canals or Infection
Root canals are indicated when the nerve tissue is exposed due to fractures, deep decay, trauma to the tooth. Infection can be due to an abscessed tooth, bone loss, deep decay (cavity), or a broken tooth. The nerve tissue is removed and replaced with packing so you do not need to have the tooth extracted. Signs and symptoms may include: pain to the touch, discoloured tooth, sensitivity to hot or swelling of surrounding tissues. Sometimes it may only be seen on an X-ray.
Denture Repair
A minor repair to an existing denture or partial. This could include a broken tooth, chip tooth, stained teeth, broken clasp or ill-fitting denture or partial.
